June 26, 2017

Report of a disturbance on Reine Street in Mena led to the arrest of Jason A. Wood, 39, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of an Instrument of Crime and Resisting Arrest. Also arrested was Jessica M. Fox, 36, of Mena, on a Charge of Possession of an Instrument of Crime.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Zackery W. Benson, 24, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.

June 27, 2017

Request for assistance on Polk 647 near Ink led to the arrest of Addam B. D. Dilbeck, 18, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and No Liability Insurance. A 17-year-old male was issued a Juvenile Citation for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Maegan L. Anderson, 26, of Fort Smith, on a Sebastian County Warrant.

Arrested was Charles D. Morgan, II, 40, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

June 28,  2017

Report of a disturbance on Highway 71 South near Grannis led to the arrest of Ava M. Dixon, 23, of Gillham, on Charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance. Additional information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested by an officer with Arkansas Probation/Parole was Robert L. Wallis, 36, of Mena, on a Probation/Parole Violation.

June 29, 2017

Report of a disturbance on Polk 69 near Opal.  Deputies responded. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 82 near Shady of damage done to a holding tank, totaling losses at $1,500.00. Deputy advised complainant of legal options.

A Citation for Possession of an Instrument of Crime was issued to Robert D. Krell, 51, of Mena.

Arrested was Stephanie E. Swint, 38, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Michael S. Milner, 22, of Grannis, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Report from complainant that speakers, valued at $50.00, had been stolen from a vehicle while parked at Wilhelmina Lake. Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Hornbeck Street in Hatfield led to Citations for Disorderly Conduct being issued to both Darla N. Henry, 33, of Hatfield, and Tyler Starr, 20, of Mena. Juvenile Citations for Disorderly Conduct were issued to both a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old female.

Report from complainant on Polk 13 near Wickes of the break-in and theft of $240.00 in cash and change. Investigation continues.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Heather N. Turbeville, 22, of Mena, on a Charge of Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance.

July 18, 2017

Arrested was Hannah L. White, 34, of Mena, on Warrants for Forgery and four counts each of Failure to Appear and Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report of a disturbance on East Street in Cove led to the arrest of Jayden S. Brown, 20, of Wickes, on Charges of Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Act, Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.

July 22, 2017

Report of an unattended death on Highway 8 East near Big Fork. Deputies responded. The scene was released to the Polk County Coroner.

Arrested was Anthony W. Cottman, 29, of Heavener, OK, on a Warrant for Felony Failure to Appear.

Report of an accident on Polk 48 near Potter led to the arrest of Alexandra C. Dolak, 29, of Mena, on a Charge of DWI.

July 23, 2017

Report from a Hatfield woman that her 17-year-old daughter was missing. The juvenile was located and issued Juvenile Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The juvenile was returned to the custody of a parent/guardian. Additional information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report was taken of a verbal dispute between a local man and woman. No charges were filed.

July 24, 2017

A local man reported that his neighbor’s dog got into his rabbit hutch and killed two rabbits. Case has been referred to animal control.

July 25, 2017

Murphy Ian McKenzie, 21, of Mena was charged with theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

A local man reported that someone had stolen his prescription pain medication. Case is pending.

July 26, 2017

Jerry W. Haynes, 28, of Mena was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a license suspended for DWI, and speeding. The arrest followed a traffic stop.

A Mena woman reported that someone had stolen her purse from the floorboard of a vehicle while she was at work at a local fast-food restaurant. Case is pending location and interview of suspects.

A local man reported that he believed someone had gained entry into his house while he was out. Case is pending.

July 27, 2017

Rachel Crow, 37, of Mena was charged with driving on a license suspended for DWI.

An employee at a local convenience store reported a gas skip in the amount of $18.07. Case is pending.

July 28, 2017

A Mena woman reported that her 8-year-old son was missing from her residence. After a search of the area, the boy was located and returned to his mother.

Gary Czarnetski, 23, of Mena was charged with reckless driving, driving on a suspended driver’s license, fleeing in a vehicle, and theft by receiving.

July 29, 2017

Christy Jean Grensberg, 21, a transient, was served an outstanding felony warrant from Seminole County, Oklahoma.

Timothy Davis, 54, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Mena Police Department for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Larry Lee Kenyon, 46, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after a call from a local citizen regarding an intoxicated man.

Jordan Leigh Dodds, 20, of Mena was charged with theft of property (shoplifting) and criminal trespass after officers were called to a local retail store.

August 2, 2017

Benjamin Murry, 38, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Two 15-year-old Mena girls were charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers were called to a local retail store. The case was referred to juvenile authorities and the girls were released to their guardians.

A local man reported that someone had taken items out of his vehicle while it had been broken down on a local street. Case is pending.

August 3, 2017

Richard Chad James, 38, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear.

Michael Wilson, 50, of Mena was charged with third degree battery after officers responded to a call at a local residence.

August 4, 2017

Report was taken from a Polk County woman who reported that a friend of her son was harassing her. Case is pending.

Benny Lee Anderson, 44, of Mena was charged with driving without a driver’s license, leaving the scene of an accident, and having no proof of insurance.

A local woman reported that her estranged husband’s current girlfriend is harassing her. Case is pending.

August 7, 2017

A Mena woman reported that her purse was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on the lot at her place of employment.  Case is pending further investigation.

August 8, 2017

Neighbors of a local couple reported them arguing.  Neither person wished to file charges.

Alban Robert Beckwith, 25, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant.  He was additionally charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and having no vehicle insurance.

Michael Chance Martin, 33, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant.

Darren Richard Mullins, 49, of Mena was charged with driving on a driver’s license suspended for DWI.

Two reports were made of feuding couples having altercations.  No charges were filed in either case.

Crystal Joy Vereyken, 44, of Mena was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

A local woman reported she is being harassed by an acquaintance.  Case is pending.

Maria Carmen Williamson, 59, of Mena was charged with third degree battery after officers were called to a local residence.

August 11, 2017

Police responded to an open-door alarm at a local restaurant.  Authorities and a key holder searched the building and  it was secured.

Report was made of a homemade trailer being stolen from a local residence.  Case is pending.

August 12, 2017

An 11-year-old Mena boy was cited for criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after a call to a local store.  Case was forwarded to juvenile authorities.

Nathaniel Cole, 19, of Mena was charged with minor in possession of alcohol after a call to a local residence.  Also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor were three youths, one age 17, two age 16, and a 13-year-old girl.

Nicholas Paul Brewer, 30, of Mena was charged with possession of a controlled substance.  The arrest followed a traffic stop.

August 14, 2017

Jesus Rashad Rodriguez, 18, of Mena was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and curfew violation after a traffic stop.  Also charged with the incident with a curfew violation was a 16-year-old Mena boy.

August 15, 2017

Christopher Brown, 21, of Mena was charged with disorderly conduct after a call to a disturbance at a local residence.

August 16, 2017

Derrick P. Lester, 42, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after officers responded to a call at a local state business office.

Robert Samuel Bush, 34, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Polk County.

Wendy Blanche Baugh, 43, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after an incident at the Polk County Courthouse.

Jeramy D. Syzmanski, 41, of Cove was charged with DWI after officers were called to a disturbance at a local residence.

A local woman reported that someone had entered her home while she was out and had stolen a camera, cash, and prescription medications.  Case is pending further investigation.

Report of a disturbance on Highway 8 East near Nunley.  Deputies responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested was Christopher A. Brown, 21, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication, Theft of Property, Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked one vehicle accident this week.

Report was taken of a shoplifter at a local retail store.  Case is pending further investigation, review of surveillance tape, and identification and location of suspect.

Report was made of a verbal dispute between a local man and his mother-in-law.  No charges were filed.

September 18, 2017

A local man reported that someone had stolen his son’s bicycle from their yard.  The bike was later located and returned to the owner.

Shawn Keith Fender, 47, of Mena was arrested on two outstanding warrants from the Mena Police Department for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Jordan Lee Dodds, 19, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Mena Police Department.

Robin Matheson, 50, of Mena was charged with two counts of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The arrest followed a traffic stop.

Report was taken of two shoplifters at a local retail store.  Case is pending further review of surveillance tapes.

Report was made of a laptop computer being stolen from a van while it was fueling at a local gas station. After review of surveillance tapes, the suspect was identified.  The laptop was located and returned to the owner.  The suspect himself has still not been located, but an arrest is expected to be made.

Michael Tyrail Higgins, 31, of Mena was charged with aggravated assault, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, second degree battery, theft by receiving, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental operations, fleeing in a vehicle, two counts of criminal mischief, and having a suspended driver’s license.

Bessielynn S. Cuellar, 36, of Mena was arrested on four outstanding warrants for failure to pay fines and court costs.  One was from the Mena police and three from the Polk County Sheriff.

Report was made of the theft of fuel from a local station.  Case is pending review of surveillance tapes.

Vicky Lee Franz, 54, of Mena was charged with public intoxication, fleeing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.  The arrest followed a call to a local neighborhood.

Stephen Allen Carney, 29, of Mena was charged with DWI, having no driver’s license, and running a stop sign.

A local woman reported that someone had thrown a brick through the windshield of her car when it was parked in her yard.  Case is pending location and interview of suspect.

A local man reported that someone had been tampering with an air conditioning unit at his business.  Case is pending further investigation.

Jason D. Rosson, 35, and Joy M. Reed, 29, both of Mena, were charged with disorderly conduct after a call to a local neighborhood.  Rosson was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sarah M. Mitchell, 23, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended license, having no liability insurance, and having no tags on her vehicle.

Shannon Shaw, 37, of Mena was charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia. Also charged with felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia was Jeremiah C. Kahn, 32, also of Mena.

Zachary Benson, 24, of Mena was charged with public intoxication and possession of drug paraphernalia.  The arrest followed a call from Polk County dispatch.

Kevin Grahn, 23, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license and having no liability insurance.

Michael Hook, 57, of Mena was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct after officers responded to a call at a local retail store.

Stacie Leeann Shores, 27, of Mena was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

A local man reported that his former wife’s current boyfriend had attacked him.  Case is pending.
