Report was taken of a verbal altercation between two women at a local residence.  No charges were filed.

Wayne Lanham, 24, of Mena was served an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

Report was taken of someone dumping tires and other personal trash into a dumpster at a local business.  Case is pending location of suspects.

October 4, 2017

Hunter Dollar, 23, and Cari Dollar, 24, of Mena were charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers were called to a local retail store.

October 5, 2017

Joshua Hughes, 28, of Mena was cited for endangering the welfare of a minor.

October 6, 2017

Report was taken of a man being at a residence where he was not welcome and was asked to leave.  He was advised by officers not to return to the residence.

Report was taken from employees at a local grocery store regarding someone breaking into soda machines and taking money from them.  Case is pending identity of suspect seen on surveillance video.

Robert Lee Wallis, 36, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs.

A Mena woman reported that she had lost or someone had stolen her wallet.  Individuals who found it in a local park later returned it to her, but a substantial amount of cash was missing.  Case is pending.

Traffic stop on Highway 375 West near Potter led to the arrest of Ethan C. McDaniel, 22, of Watson, OK, on Charges of DWI and Driving Left of Center.

Arrested was Logan Davis, 28, of Mena, on a Warrant for Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.

Report of a disturbance on Polk 56 near Nunley led to the arrest of Terrie J. Williams, 30, of Mena, on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct. Also arrested was Abram L. Abernathy, 20, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Request for assistance on Stone Lane near Acorn for an elderly individual that had fallen in their yard. Deputy responded.

Report of a disturbance led to an 11-year-old male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Obstructing Governmental Operations. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Jacquelin L. Burnett, 26, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of Meth or Cocaine with Purpose to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Traffic stop led to the arrest of Ernest A. Pennell, 41, of Mena, on Charges of Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, No Seatbelt, No License Plate and No Liability Insurance. Also arrested was Stacie L. Shores, 27, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 41 South near Potter led to a 16-year-old female being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

A local woman reported that someone had broken the windshield on her vehicle and had sprayed soda pop all over the inside. Case is pending.

October 9, 2017

David Sinyard, 42, of Mena was charged with criminal trespass after a call to a local retail store.

David Sinyard, 42, of Mena was arrested and charged with criminal trespass after he was seen in a vacant house.

Jerald E. Gammon, 71, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended license, having no liability insurance, having expired vehicle tags, and careless driving.

October 10, 2017

Report was made of a 911 hang up call. The call was traced and the individual was unaware that they had made the call. No charges were filed.

October 11, 2017

A local woman reported that a former boyfriend has been harassing her. Case is pending further investigation.

Juston Wikel, 32, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license, having no liability insurance, and having no vehicle tags, and not wearing a seat belt.

James A. Brown, 61, of Mena was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

October 12, 2017

David Sinyard, 42, of Mena was arrested on seven outstanding warrants for violation of Arkansas’ hot check law.

A local youth reported that someone had stolen approximately $400.00 from his wallet. The wallet was left in his vehicle while he was playing Frisbee golf. Case is pending.

October 13, 2017

Jimmy Pack, 55, of Mena was charged with harassment after a former girlfriend filed a complaint.

October 14, 2017

Karen Taylor, 44, of Hatfield was charged with disorderly conduct after officers were called to the emergency room at the local hospital regarding an unruly patient.

Mitchell Priddy, 52, of Mena was charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers were called to a local retail store.

Report was taken of a gas skip at a local convenience store.  There are no suspects at this time.

NOTICE:  A small chainsaw was recovered at Mena Street and Highway 71.  If you have lost one, come by the Mena Police Department to identify.

Sheila Akers, 39, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for failure to pay.

Dennis Stinson, 39, and Paula Kay Schuller, 47, both of Mena, were charged with disorderly conduct after a call from a local woman.

Crystal Ducote, 40, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Mena woman reported that she had been pushed down by an acquaintance. Case is pending.

A local woman made a complaint against her neighbor stating that he is sending her inappropriate texts. Case is pending interview of suspect and further investigation.

Report of three missing hikers in the southeast part of the county.  The individuals were later located.

Chance Wherley, 20, of Mena was arrested on two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant. He was also charged with resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance. The arrest followed an investigation by Mena police.

Stephanie Thomas, 41, of Mena was charged with disorderly conduct after officers responded to several calls regarding an out of control woman.

Report was made of someone passing a counterfeit bill at a local fast food restaurant. Case is pending.

A local woman reported that someone had broken the windshield on her vehicle and had stolen several items including cash, prescription medication, and several credit cards. The incident happened at her place of business. Case is pending review of surveillance tapes.

Report from complainants on Polk County Roads 76 West, 76 East, 77, 117 and Cox Lane, all near Mena, of damage done to mailboxes.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 48 near Potter of a break-in and vandalism, causing damages of $200.00, led to the arrest of Elena M. Hendershot, 34, of Mena, on Charges of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Criminal Trespass.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Chelsea M. Finley, 25, of Smithville, OK, on Charges of Faulty Equipment, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Trudy G. Klitz, 47, of Horatio, on a Charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Report from complainant on Highway 8 East near Board Camp of damage done to a mailbox, totaling losses at $75.00.

December 10, 2017

Report of a disturbance led to a 14-year-old male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Battery 3rd Degree.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Jaylon R. Parnell, 19, of Mena, on three Warrants for Felony Failure to Appear.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked two vehicle accidents this week.
