Report from complainant on Polk 70 near Cherry Hill of damage done to their property by heavy equipment.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on First Street in Wickes of a scam involving a vehicle, totaling losses at $1,800.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from a Cove woman of being harassed by an unknown individual.  Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance led to a 17-year-old female being issued a Juvenile Citation for Disorderly Conduct.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Joy Lane near Ink of the break-in and theft of a firearm and documentation, all valued at $190.00.  Investigation continues.

Report of a disturbance on Polk 288 near Cove.  Deputies responded.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disturbance on North Eve Street in Mena led to the arrest of Donald K. Bradley, 42, and John R. Miller, 59, both of Mena, each on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Report of a disturbance on Highway 8 East near Board Camp.  Suspect fled the residence before deputies arrived.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from complainant on Polk 159 near Potter of problems with a neighbor.  Deputy responded.

Report from complainant on Cedar Lane in Hatfield of being threatened by an acquaintance.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Justin R. Simpson, 39, of Mena, on a Charge of Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

March 2, 2017

Report of a disturbance led to an 11-year-old male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Battery 3rd Degree.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Arrested was Daniel D. Weekes, 29, of Gillham, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from a Grannis woman of inappropriate behavior involving a juvenile.  Investigation continues.

Arrested was Gary Wayne Covington, 43, of Story, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Gerald D. Aleshire, 20, of Mena, on a Warrant for Harassment.

Traffic stop on Polk 18 in Vandervoort led to Citations for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance being issued to: Jeffery A. McAllister, 47, of Cove; Bobb B. Huber, 24, of Mena; Barbra F. Brannon, 56, of Mena; and Tonya L. Henry, 41, of Eudora.

Arrested was Bryan G. Page, 43, of Mena, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Report of a disturbance on Highway 375 East near Mena led to the arrest of Robert E. Heath, 32, of Mena, on Charges of Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.

Report from complainant on Polk 31 near Hatfield of their dogs being shot.  Investigation continues.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked one vehicle accident this week.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 26 Incarcerated Inmates, with 7 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility, of which 2 are currently out of jail on a monitoring system.

Arrested was Kristian D. Taylor, 29, of Hatfield, on a Drug Court Sanction.

Arrested was Juan R. Martinez, 38, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

Arrested was Thomas J. Posey, 42, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Melissa D. Wallace, 44, of Mena was arrested and charged with DWI after officers responded to a call regarding a reckless driver.

March 6, 2017

David Higby, 32, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant from LeFlore County, Oklahoma.

Daniel Green, 40, of Mena, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.  In the same incident, Adam Green, 24, of DeQueen was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.  The arrests followed a traffic stop.

March 7, 2017

Carrie Rene Bass, 39, of Mena was charged with DWI (drugs) after a call to the parking lot of a local retail store regarding a woman having passed out in a vehicle.

Kyle A. Woody, 21, of Mena was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Report was taken of the theft of a four-wheeler from the yard of a local residence.  Case is pending.

A local business owner reported that someone had broken into the garage area of his business and done damage to items inside.  Case is pending further investigation.

A local man reported that a neighbor’s dogs had killed four rabbits in his yard.

William Robert Brewer, 31, of Mena was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) and careless driving.

March 9, 2017

A man staying at a local motel reported that someone had tried to break into his company’s truck.  Case is pending.

March 10, 2017

Charles Michael York, 34, of Mena was arrested on a pick up order from the Polk County Probation and Parole Department.

March 11, 2017

Report was made that Justin Ashley, 24, of Mena was arrested and charged with violation of an interlock device and careless driving.

Richard Chad James, 38, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Charles E. Duff, 29, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a traffic stop.

March 13, 2017

A 16-year-old Mena boy was charged with public intoxication after a call regarding someone lying in the highway. He was released to his grandmother. Case has been forwarded to the juvenile authorities.

Adam Matthew Green, 24, of DeQueen was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Dustin Wayne Lane, 23, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Officers traveled to Waldron where Lane had been incarcerated and brought him back to Polk County.

A local man reported that there were BB holes in the front window of his home. Case is pending.

Timothy S. Woods, 41, of Cove was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine or cocaine, driving on a suspended driver’s license suspended for DWI, having no insurance on a vehicle, and having expired vehicle tags. The arrest followed a traffic stop.

Employees at a local bank reported receiving a counterfeit $20.00 bill in the deposit from a local restaurant.

A local man reported that someone had stolen a license plate from the front of his vehicle. Case pending.

A local woman reported that someone had opened a cell phone account in her name without her knowledge. She has since closed the account.

March 17, 2017

Brooke King, 24, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from the office of the Polk County Sheriff.

Owner of a house in Mena reported that someone had broken his mailbox.

March 18, 2017

Adam Lee Dollarhyde, 28, of Mena was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after a call from neighbors regarding his behavior.

Report from complainant on Polk 35 near Hatfield of the theft of four wheels, all valued at $400.00, led to a 13-year-old male and an 11-year-old male each being issued a Juvenile Citation for Theft of Property.  The juveniles were released to the custody of a parent/guardian. The wheels were returned to the owner.

Report from a Mena woman that she hadn’t heard from her husband in three days. The individual was later located in another state.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South near Hatfield led to the arrest of Adam W. Smith, 30, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from complainant on Polk 42 near Potter of an unauthorized person on their property led to the arrest of Justin A. Ashley, 24, of Mena, on a Charge of Violation of an Ignition Interlock Device.

Traffic stop on Highway 375 West near Mena led to the arrest of Cord D. Olson, 31, of Hatfield, on a Charge of Intent to Defraud a Drug or Alcohol Screening Test.  Additional information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop led to a Citation for No Liability Insurance being issued to Amber D. Brock, 38, of Mena.  Also arrested was Daniel D. Howard, 36, of Hatfield, on two Warrants for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Page Michelle Hullinger, and Robert Ruess, 23, both of Mena were charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers were called to a local store.

March 20, 2017

Michelle Diane Bice, 38, of Mena was arrested on three warrants. Two warrants were from Mena for failure to pay fines and court costs and the third was failure to appear from Montgomery County.

Christopher Stephen Davy, 25, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.

Malcolm Ryan Wells, 30, of Mena was charged with disorderly conduct after officers responded to a call regarding a reckless driver.

Laine Barber, 22, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Billy Souther, 31, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Matthew Warren Hackworth, 32, of Mena was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. (marijuana)

Vicky L. Fussell, 48, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for probation violation.

Carl James Madison, 33, of Glenwood was charged with residential burglary, criminal mischief, criminal trespass, public intoxication, drinking in public, assault, and impairing the operation of a public facility. The arrest followed a call to a local residence. He was also served a warrant.

Jason Glen Hale, 32, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Melissa Ann DeHart, 27, of Mena was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a call to a local residence. She was also served an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Debra Nicole Sullivan, 33, of Mena was charged with DWI, careless driving, fleeing, endangering the welfare of a minor, obstructing governmental operations, leaving the scene of an accident, and refusal to submit to a BAC text. The arrest followed a call from a local resident.

March 22, 2017

Ty Wayne Jones, 21, of Mena was charged with DWI, careless driving and driving on a suspended driver’s license following a traffic stop.

Report was taken of a misplaced wallet. The incident happened at a local retail store. The victim left his wallet on a counter. It was inadvertently returned to the wrong man, who kept it. Case is pending identification of suspect from surveillance tapes.

March 23, 2017

William L. Copelin, 22, of Mena was charged with speeding, fleeing in a vehicle, disregarding a traffic sign, and resisting arrest.

Rodney Dale Morrison, 31, of Mena was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment after officers responded to a call at a local residence.

March 24, 2017

Report was made of someone failing to pay for a room at a local motel. The suspect was contacted and indicated that it was an error and would pay the charges.

Brianna Lee Rush, 18, of Mena was arrested and charged with theft of property after a call to a local resale shop.

Michael Ray Moore, 21, of Mena was charged with DWI after officers observed a vehicle in the ditch on a local street.

March 28, 2017

Officers responded to a domestic situation at a local residence. No arrests were made, but a Mena woman was taken to the hospital for observation and evaluation.

March 29, 2017

Travis Earl Davis, 47, of Mena was arrested on a Polk County warrant.

Phillip Trent Lawry, 61, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a call at a local residence.

Richard Smiley, 58, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding failure to appear warrant from the Mena Police.

David Betz, 42, of Mena was charged with theft of property (shoplifting) after officers received a call to a local retail store.

A local woman reported that she is being harassed by her former spouse. There is an order of protection in place.

March 30, 2017

Report was made by a local woman regarding her estranged boyfriend. She advised that he had come to her house and became angry with her so he punched the windshield out of her vehicle.  Case is pending.

A Boles man reported that someone had stolen a backpack from him while he was at a local retail store. Case is pending further review of surveillance tapes and location and interview of suspects.

March 31, 2017

Amber J. Westbrook, 27, of Fort Smith was arrested on a Mena Police warrant. She was incarcerated in Sebastian County, and Mena officers went there to return her to Polk County.

Joshua Gage, 19, of Mena and a 15-year-old Mena youth were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident on a school bus.

April 1, 2017

A local man reported that he had had a Mercury Mountaineer vehicle stolen from his residence. Case is pending.

Employees at a local retail store reported the theft (shoplifting) of items from the store. Case is pending.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Curtis R. Parnell, 32, of Mena, on a Warrant for Probation Violation.

Report from complainant on Stagecoach Lane near Mena of an unauthorized person on their property.  Investigation continues.

Report from a Mena woman that she had loaned a vehicle to another person and they were now refusing to return it. The vehicle was later found abandoned.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested by an officer with the U.S. Forest Service was Karl K. Vann, 20, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Christopher L. Lampkin, 46, of Danville, on Charges of Speeding and Public Intoxication.

Report from complainant on Trailwood Lane near Mena of an unauthorized person on their property.

Report of a disturbance at Lake Wilhelmina near the Rocky community led to the arrest of Fred J. Creekmore, 43, of Mena, on Charges of Obstructing Governmental Operations and Resisting Arrest.  Also arrested was Cody W. Creekmore, 19, of Mena, on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Arrested was James L. Rickey, 38, of Hot Springs, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Rodney Dale Morrison, 31, of Mena was charged with stalking, loitering, two counts of criminal trespass, resisting arrest after officers were called to a local residence.

April 3, 2017

Report was taken of a window being shot out at a local business. The weapon appeared to have been a pellet gun. Case is pending further investigation.

In two similar reports, two local residents reported that their front windows had been shot out, apparently by a pellet gun. Cases are pending.

Jimmy Lee Wright, 31, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for non-payment of child support.

Christina McElveen, 25, of Mena was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

Jerry W. Haynes, 28, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a probation search.

Jason E. Tomblin, 38, of Mena was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine or methamphetamine, simultaneous possession of firearms and controlled substance, possession of firearms by “certain persons,” and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as misdemeanor possession of schedule VI.

April 4, 2017

Richard Chad James, 38, of Mena was charged driving on a suspended driver’s license and having no proof of liability insurance. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest followed a traffic stop.

Phillip A. Riley, 57, of Mena was charged with driving on a suspended driver’s license, having no liability insurance, and having no vehicle license.

A local man reported the theft of a pressure washer from his yard.  Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies had recovered such a washer, and it was positively identified as the one taken from the complainant. It was returned to the owner.

April 11, 2017

Johnny Brown, 39, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Arkansas Probation and Parole for absconding.

A local woman reported that her boyfriend had been threatening her and had been abusive. Case was forwarded to the prosecutor for review for possible warrant.

Report was taken of the theft of a sign from a local business. Case is pending further investigation.

Adam Matthew Green, 24, of DeQueen was arrested on a felony warrant for delivery of methamphetamine or cocaine.

A Mena man reported that someone had shot and killed his dog. Case is pending further investigation.

Report was made of someone breaking the sliding glass door to an apartment at a local complex. There are no suspects at this time.

Levi Cottman, 26, of Mena was arrested on a body attachment warrant.

Jack Henry, Jr., 32, of Mena was charged with DWI, obstructing governmental operations, careless driving, and resisting arrest. The arrest followed a complaint from a local resident and subsequent investigation.

A local woman reported that her nephew had become agitated and damaged her vehicle by denting it with his fist. No arrests have been made.

April 15, 2017

A local apartment manager called to report concerns about the actions of a resident of the building.  Officers found the suspect to be lethargic and disoriented. Case is to be referred to the man’s counselor to decide on what needs to be done.

John Andrew Phillips, 49, of Mena was served an outstanding warrant from Montgomery County, and was charged with public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations after officers responded to a disturbance.

Report was taken of someone removing theft detection devices from items at a local farm store.  Case is pending further investigation and review of surveillance tapes.

Employees at a local retail store reported that a man took left the building with merchandise for which he did not pay.  When confronted, the man fled across the parking lot and left the area.  Case is pending location of suspect.

Lacie L. Howell, 41, of Mena was charged with disorderly conduct after a call to a local residence regarding an altercation between two women.

Bradley Verba, 19, of Mena was arrested on two warrants for failure to pay fines and court costs.

Report was made of a verbal altercation between a Mena woman and her adult son.  No charges have been filed at this time.

A Mena man reported that someone had made charges to his credit card in Florida.  Case is pending further information.

Brian B. Travis, 37, of Mena was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.  He was served an outstanding warrant from Sevier County.  He was later charged with furnishing prohibited articles.

A burglary and theft was reported at a local restaurant. Cash was taken from a register and from arcade machines in the business.  Case is being investigated.
