March 13, 2017

Report from complainant on Baker Road near Wickes of financial identity fraud. The information was forwarded to the proper authorities.

March 14, 2017

Report from complainant on Polk 35 near Hatfield of the theft of four wheels, all valued at $400.00, led to a 13-year-old male and an 11-year-old male each being issued a Juvenile Citation for Theft of Property.  The juveniles were released to the custody of a parent/guardian. The wheels were returned to the owner.

March 15,  2017

Arrested was Brian K. Whisenhunt, 36, of Umpire, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

March 16, 2017

Discovery of an illegal item led to the arrest of William W. Scott, 18, of Mena, on a Charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

March 17, 2017

Arrested was David Baucom, 43, of Mena, on a Body Attachment Warrant.

Report from complainant on Polk 92 near the Shady Grove community of a telephone scam from Krell Business.

Traffic stop on Highway 88 East near Ink led to Citations for No Driver’s License, No Liability Insurance, No Vehicle License and Fictitious Tags being issued to Rachel R. Tarkington-Wolf, 19, of Wickes.

March 18, 2017

Report from complainant on Polk 32 near Cove of a dead goat.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 277 near Vandervoort of the theft of meat, valued at $2,000.00.

Report of an ATV accident on Holly Lane near Hatfield.  Deputies responded.

March 19, 2017

Report from complainant on Third Street in Hatfield of damage done to two windows, totaling losses at $350.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from a Mena woman that she hadn’t heard from her husband in three days. The individual was later located in another state.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 South near Hatfield led to the arrest of Adam W. Smith, 30, of Cove, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from complainant on Polk 42 near Potter of an unauthorized person on their property led to the arrest of Justin A. Ashley, 24, of Mena, on a Charge of Violation of an Ignition Interlock Device.

Traffic stop on Highway 375 West near Mena led to the arrest of Cord D. Olson, 31, of Hatfield, on a Charge of Intent to Defraud a Drug or Alcohol Screening Test.  Additional information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Traffic stop led to a Citation for No Liability Insurance being issued to Amber D. Brock, 38, of Mena.  Also arrested was Daniel D. Howard, 36, of Hatfield, on two Warrants for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 22 Incarcerated Inmates, with 4 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility.
